Meet the team
We couldn’t devise the most intelligent approach to car ownership without a great team.
I grew up in Melbourne, moved to Sydney a few years ago and fell in love with the lifestyle and a wonderful man. We both work very hard, so we balance this out by making our time at the weekends as enjoyable as possible.
We have a ‘to-do’ list that is in a constant state of flux, expanding and contracting as we add things to the list, then tick them off. The ‘Colour Run’ was just too much fun. I’ve also been fortunate enough to have travelled all over the world, and experienced things you just can’t do at home. Funny thing is, it always makes me appreciate how lucky we are in Australia, and I’m always very happy to come home at the end of a trip.
I’ve been working in the industry for a long time, and over the years I’ve salary packaged all types of cars from Toyota Prado’s to Mercedes. Right now I have a black 2014 Hyundai i30 Premium with the retractable glass roof.
It’s great value for money when you look at its competitors, and I do love that glass roof as I cruise down to Manly on the weekend and smell the salt in the air. Nevertheless, I’m two years into a three year lease, and starting to think about what the next car will be….
That’s one of the things I love about novated leasing – that you get to drive a range of different cars, and the convenience of never having to put my hand in my pocket for day to day expenses is unbeatable. Oh, and the tax savings too of course!
I still recall the sense of freedom and independence when I got my first car – a golden Honda Civic called Coco Pop. In fact, I think that’s what I love about cars, that sense of adventure and possibility that they represent.
My girlfriends and I put some k’s on poor old Coco, from Mt Bulla snow trips to Portsea back beach. We still laugh about having to let the car run for 5 minutes to warm it up before going anywhere. Long before the days of push button starts…
Although I love heading off somewhere exciting for a weekend, my favourite ‘trip’ has to be driving across the Golden Gate Bridge in my brother’s Tesla S -60 s, singing my heart out to the Starship classic – “We Built This City on Rock and Roll”.
I’ve always loved that song, and I’m particularly drawn to the part in the middle where the radio announcer says “I’m looking out over that Golden Gate Bridge. Out on a gorgeous sunny Saturday and I’m seeing that bumper to bumper traffic”.
So when my brother moved to San Francisco, I knew another item on my ‘to-do’ list was coming close, and when he bought that fantastic car – it was a done deal.
I love the fact that it’s a nimble and flexible organisation, where decisions can be made quickly to the benefit of our customers. Also, I’ve never heard anyone say “I don’t pay enough tax” – so I get a real kick out of helping employers and employees, reduce their tax burden, and increase their disposable income.
