Meet the team
We couldn’t devise the most intelligent approach to car ownership without a great team.
Originally from Sydney, I moved to Melbourne in 2005 to work with BMW, before moving into the car salary packaging industry. I’m firmly settled in Melbourne now, and when I’m not at work my life revolves around my wife and two gorgeous kids. We have a 12 year old son and a 9 year old daughter who keep us very busy. Not to mention a dog and chickens that my wife decided was necessary to round off the family.
I have always been interested Rugby League & Rugby Union, and it seems to have filtered down into my sons genes, so weekends are usually spent on a field as a coach. I even gained qualifications as a NRL Sports Trainer, as well as an Assistant Referee. My personal time out is usually spent riding my motorbike. On a lovely Melbourne day you will often find me riding down the Mornington Peninsula and stopping for a coffee.
When holidays come around, this means that it is four wheel driving and camping time.
I drive a 2015 Toyota Rav 4 GXL. We find it a reliable car for the city, it holds two adults and two kids comfortably, as well as all of our camping gear – and it has reasonable off road capabilities too. My last four cars have been Toyota in fact, great reliability and resale value.
My first car was hand-me-down Mustard Yellow 1984 Volvo GLX Station Wagon. A real ego booster for a teenager. Couldn’t wait to buy my own car, as soon as I earned enough money I bought a 1986 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, this is where my passion for four wheel driving and camping started.
My favourite road trip was a 5 week driving holiday in 2009 through Queensland. We left Melbourne to spend Christmas with my in-laws in Narrabri. Then drove to Noosa where the kids enjoyed the Ginger Factory, whilst I found relaxing on the beach and eating out was more my scene.
Next on to Tin Can Bay, where you can feed wild dolphins by hand. Seventeen seventy is a small town with a lot of history and a great place to go four wheel driving, camping and hiking through the Kroombit Tops National Park.
We then wound our way back home through central Queensland and NSW stopping at various towns along the way. It was fantastic time for us to spend time with our kids and show them a beautiful part of Australia.
It’s the people, without a doubt. It’s great working in a team where everyone is so committed to doing the job right. You don’t come across that very often.
