Meet the team
We couldn’t devise the most intelligent approach to car ownership without a great team.
I was born in one of the biggest cities in the centre of Brazil, Goiânia. My father was a vet and a university professor, so my brother and I spent weekends travelling with him outside of the city to farms, where he’d treat animals. We’d explore surrounding areas and spent hours fishing, bushwalking, horse riding and trying whichever fresh delicacies were in season from the trees at the time.
My father bought me my first computer when I was 14 years old and since then, I’ve been fascinated by the computing world. At school, my friends used to pay me to type their assignments given my promptly-developed touch-typing speed and I knew from then that I wanted to study computer science. When I was 18, I started my computer engineering degree and became a software developer.
In 2010, I moved to Sydney to advance my career and explore new life opportunities. I fell in love with this city and a beautiful girl, whom I now have the privilege of calling my wife.
My first car was a white 1996 Barina that my mother gave me for a very special price. It was free. The Barina was my companion for six years and many adventures. My brother and friends used to pile in and we’d head to uni, for holidays and on road trips to Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro, San Paolo – everywhere!
My favourite road trip was driving 150km from Goiânia to Pontalina to visit my grandparents on their farm. I used to travel there a lot and it brings back great memories – I knew that road was leading us to a great time. My family in Brazil is now building a new, larger home on the property for present and future generations.
What I like most about Autopia is working with such a great team. When I travelled to Sydney from Brazil, I was looking for opportunities and the diversity of this team brings expertise and knowledge together, giving me the chance to learn and constantly improve my capabilities.
