Driving gender

In partnership with UN Women

In 2014 we started working with the Australian National Committee for UN Women, to raise awareness about gender inequality and help drive gender diversity in the workplace. Headquartered in Canberra, UN Women Australia is one of 15 global National Committees and is tasked with the following duties:

  • Raise funds to support UN Women’s projects and programs
  • Challenge attitudes which perpetuate gender inequality in Australia and the region
  • Engage with the Australian Government to raise awareness of the work of UN Women

This is how we help

Challenging attitudes that perpetuate gender inequity

We’ve hosted intimate lunches, robust panel discussions, we’ve published videos and whitepapers – all addressing the issue of inequity that exists in corporate Australia today. You can see a highlight of one of our events below, a panel discussion on ‘Driving Gender Diversity in the Workplace’, where a host of Senior HR executives turned up in Melbourne to listen to rigorous discussion from:

  • Julie McKay Executive Director, Australian National Commitee for UN Women
  • Robert Wood Director, Centre for Ethical Leadership
  • Dimity Hodge Australian Practice Leader, Leadership Advisory Services, Spencer Stuart
  • Air Commodore Alan Clements Commandant, Australian Defence Force Academy

Air Commodore Alan Clements,
Commandant Australian Defence Force,
reveals the moment he discovered there
was a problem in our society
with gender inequality.
